Uganda Speaker Calls for Gay Ban as Nation 'Xmas Gift'

Speaker of Ugandan parliament Rebecca Kadaga is vowing to pass a bill banning homosexuality before the end of the year to deliver the "Christmas gift" demanded by anti-gay activists. She made the remarks at a parliamentary conference hall where she was loudly cheered by religious supporters. Gays could be sentenced to life imprisonment if the bill becomes law.
