Romney Stands by Criticism of Obama Over Embassy Attacks

Republican Mitt Romney defended his assailing of President Barack Obama's administration's handling of attacks on US diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt. His initial statement was in reaction to the US embassy in Cairo denouncing the anti-Islam film "Innocence of Muslims" -- although the embassy had released its condemnation prior to the protests, and not during them as Romney implies. Romney has been widely criticized for making overly "hasty" comments on the situation, and for trying to make political capital from an unfolding crisis that later resulted in the deaths of several US embassy staff in Libya.
