Republican Senator John McCain defended Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, against unsubstantiated allegations that her family has ties to Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood. She had been accused in a letter signed by five Republican members of the House of Representatives including former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann.
