A debate in Ukraine's parliament descended into violence as opposition and pro-president deputies brawled over a bill that would allow official institutions in Russian-speaking parts of the country use the Russian language. The fight illustrates high tensions in the country between those who want Ukraine to develop closer ties to the West, and those - such as current president Viktor Yanukovych - who wish to maintain close ties with Russia.
