Raw Video: Celebrations in Ramallah as Prisoner Hunger Strike Deal Reached
May 14, 2012 from YouTube via antiprocon
On the evening of May 14, following reports that a deal had been reach to end the mass hunger strike by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, hundreds showed up in the streets of Ramallah to express their support for the prisoners. As conflicting reports emerged about the purported deal, the father of administrative detainee Thaer Halahleh - who has been on hunger strike for 77 days - gave a short speech stating his son and seven other long-term hunger strikers will remain on strike "until freedom or martyrdom." [Subtitles are a rough translation of his statement.]
