Meanwhile in neighboring Pakistan, the Taliban claimed responsibility for attacks by two suicide bombers in the southwestern city of Quetta. The explosions killed at least 24 people and injured scores more. The bombers struck at rush hour, targeting security forces responsible for the recent capture of several Al Qaeda operatives. A Taliban spokesman warned that if Pakistan made any more arrests, the reaction would be much more forceful.
