Obama Administration Blocks Bush-Era Oil Production Plan

Fresh off winning re-election, the Obama administration proposed a new plan to close off 1.6 billion acres of federal land which was laid out for oil production by the Bush administration. The move has not only set conservative activists fuming, but also stirred concern from some environmental groups.
