Next 36-48 Hours Critical for Taliban Target Malala Yousafzai
October 12, 2012 from NTDTV
Doctors treating Malala Yousafzai, the 14-year-old Paksitani girl who was shot by the Taliban, are now satisfied with her condition, according to Pakistan's military. However, the next 36 to 48 hours remain critical. Yousafzai was transferred on Thursday to a hospital in the army garrison town of Rawalpindi. She is unconscious and in a critical condition after gunmen shot her in the head and neck as she left school on Tuesday. Doctors say she has moved her arms and legs slightly since the incident. A Taliban spokesman said that the girl was targeted for trying to spread Western culture and that they would try to kill her again if she survived.
