China Offers 'Low-Key' Response to India's Long-Range Missile Launch

India announced the successful launch of a long-range missile Thursday, capable of carrying a nuclear payload and of hitting major Chinese cities such as Beijing and Shanghai in China. Some in the region fear the Agni-V test could fuel regional tension and, while a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized cooperation between the countries, other official channels have made it clear that India would stand "no chance" in an arms race with the People's Republic.
