China Makes It Harder for Emigrants to Return

Chinese lawmakers have introduced new immigration laws requiring citizens who have moved overseas to apply for approval before they can return to their homeland. Under the new "Law on the Control of the Exit and Entry of Citizens," Chinese citizens wanting to settle back in China will have to first apply at Chinese consulates for approval. Overseas Chinese have raised concerns the new law will impose unfair restrictions and some believe the new measures could be a way for the Chinese regime to keep out certain citizens altogether.
