China Launches First Aircraft Carrier Amid Rising Tensions

The Chinese Navy has officially put into service its first aircraft carrier, though the ship will mainly be used for training purposes. State broadcaster CCTV reports that China's top leaders, including President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, were on hand for the ceremony.
