Amid Ongoing Violence, Kofi Annan Attempts New Peace Plan for Syria

In the face of the ongoing violence in Syria, Kofi Annan, the joint United Nations-Arab League envoy, is pushing yet another plan to try to end the fighting. A UN conference this weekend is expected to discuss a proposal for a unity government. But Russia says the meeting aims to set conditions for a ceasefire in Syria, and not dictate terms of a transitional government. Charles Stratford has the details.
