Amazing Footage of Hurricane Sandy from Space
October 29, 2012 from NTDTV
A time-lapse animation released by NASA shows Hurricane Sandy slowly heading towards the East Coast of the US on Sunday. Nearly 12 hours of movement are captured in the 30-second clip. The images were taken from a geostationary orbit 22,000 miles above the earth. A "super rapid scan" of the storm was taken each minute, and then replayed extremely fast. The images fade into darkness as the sun sets.
