Hundreds of people took the streets of the capital Managua in support of the defeated conservative candidate, Fabio Gadea who claims widespread vote-rigging took place. Police fired tear gas to quell the demonstration. No-one was reportedly injured but local media claim dozens of young people were beaten.</media:text>
