Die 57. Präsidentschaftswahl in den Vereinigten Staaten fand am 6. November 2012 statt. Formal sind am 6. November die Wahlmänner des Electoral College bestimmt worden, die am 17. Dezember ihre Stimmen für die Ämter des Präsidenten und des Vizepräsidenten abgaben. Gleichzeitig fanden die Wahlen zum US-Kongress, elf Gouverneurswahlen und Wahlen von Parlamenten in zahlreichen Bundesstaaten sowie ein Status-Referendum in Puerto Rico statt.
Noch vor Auszählung der Ergebnisse in allen Bundesstaaten konnte der demokratische Amtsinhaber Barack Obama die Mehrheit der Wahlmänner-Stimmen auf sich vereinen und wurde wiedergewählt. Sein republikanischer Herausforderer Mitt Romney gestand seine Niederlage ein.
