Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has used his first public speech in five months to deny his government's involvement in last month's Houla massacre.

The Syrian government has released a report clearing itself of any involvement in last week's massacre in Houla. Susan Rice, US ambassador to the United Nations, slammed the regime's version of events as "another blatant lie."
