Somali Football Federation
Description
The Somali Football Federation was founded in 1960. In that same year, the SFF became a FIFA member and has been affiliated with the organization ever since. In 1975, it joined the Confederation of African Football, an administrative body it is still likewise a member of. It is also a part of the Union of Arab Football Associations, which it joined in 1974. The SFF is responsible for organizing matches between local teams and enforcing rules and regulations of the game during matches. The Federation is also in charge of the National Football Team, League and Cup. In April 2012 Said Mohamud Nur, president of the SFF, was one of several fatalities of an al-Shabab bombing of Somalia's national theatre in Mogadishu. (via Freebase)
