Parwan Province
Description
Parwan Province Parwān, also spelled Parvān, is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. It has a population of about 620,900 and its capital is Charikar. Located north of Kabul Province, it was once the name of an ancient town in the Hindu Kush mountains. Parwan is one of the most secure provinces in the country, however recently there have been reports of some militant activities. The largest U.S.-military base in Afghanistan, the Bagram Air Base, is also located in Parwan. (via Freebase)
