Dan Malloy Dannel Patrick "Dan" Malloy is an American politician who has been the 88th Governor of Connecticut since January 2011. Malloy, a member of the Democratic Party, previously served as Mayor of Stamford, Connecticut from December 1995 to December 2009. On May 22, 2010, Malloy was endorsed by the Connecticut Democratic Party as its candidate for Governor, defeating 2006 Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Ned Lamont; subsequently he won the Connecticut Democratic gubernatorial primary on August 10, 2010.
